M. Greaves (in the chair) and Mr. J. R. Pritchard. The Chief-constable (Colonel Ruck) also occupied a seat on the Bench.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Selling Drink to a Drunken Person. \u2013 <strong>Jane Roberts<\/strong>, <strong>Gelert Inn<\/strong>, <strong>Beddgelert<\/strong>, was summoned for selling drink to a drunken person. \u2013 Mr William George prosecuted on behalf of the police, and Mr John Humphreys (Messrs Jones and Jones) defended. \u2013 <strong>P.C. D. Roberts<\/strong>, <strong>Beddgelert<\/strong>, said that on the 13th of July he saw <strong>John Edmonds<\/strong>, <strong>Ty\u2019nycoed<\/strong>,<strong> Beddgelert<\/strong>, drunk, and he cautioned the landlady of the <strong>Gelert Inn<\/strong> not to serve Edmonds with drink. Subsequently the officer called at the house, and found he had drink before him, and the landlady said that Edmonds had told her the officer had said he could have a pint of beer. \u2013 Mr Humphreys admitted the offence, and said that the landlady was 72 years of age, and would be going out of the house in a few days, as she was practically unfit to keep the house. \u2013 The Bench inflicted a fine of \u00a32 and costs, but no endorsement. \u2013 <strong>John Edmonds<\/strong> was then charged with being drunk at the Gelert Inn. P.C. Roberts repeated his evidence in the previous case. \u2013 Defendant was fined 2s 6d and 11s 6d costs.<\/p>\n<p>Assault on the Police. \u2013 <strong>John Edmonds<\/strong>, defendant in the last case, was also charged with assaulting P.C. Roberts. \u2013 The Officer said that the defendant got hold of him by the shoulders, shook him, and threatened him. \u2013 Defendant was fined 20s and 8s 6d costs.<\/p>\n<p>Drunkenness, Etc. \u2013 <strong>Griffith Roberts<\/strong>, <strong>Ty Rhew<\/strong>, <strong>Beddgelert<\/strong>, was charged by P.C. Roberts with being drunk and disorderly. In inflicting a penalty of 2s 6d and costs, the Chairman said that there were many complaints lately of the conduct of the young men at Beddgelert, and he strongly recommended them to be more careful
