{"id":81,"date":"2022-11-06T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-06T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oxenholme.oneplacestudy.org\/?page_id=81"},"modified":"2022-11-06T09:46:11","modified_gmt":"2022-11-06T09:46:11","slug":"askew-family","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oneplacestudy.org\/oxenholme\/askew-family\/","title":{"rendered":"Askew Family"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><a href=\"#Bottom\" rel=\"nofollow\">Main menu<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thomas Askew<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>coal merchant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>publican at the <a href=\"http:\/\/oxenholme.oneplacestudy.org\/?page_id=131\"><strong>Station Inn<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>debtor 7 February 1898<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">George Francis &#8216;Frank&#8217; Askew (1889-1915)<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>born at Lancaster on 12 January 1889<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>second of at least six children born to Edmund Askew and his wife Ellen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>family moved to <strong>Oxenholme<\/strong> when Frank was just 2, with Edmund being employed on the railway first as a yardsman and then as a shunter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>enlisted at Glasgow and served as a Private in the 8th Battalion of the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>died at Gallipoli on 8 June 1915 and his name is recorded on the Helles Memorial, Turkey but not on the Natland memorial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><i>Can you add any information to this page?
